1. Who we are
TrueOpinion is a medical second-opinion and healthcare navigation service operated by SMJOSHI HEALTHCURE LLP ("we", "us"). This policy explains how we handle your personal data, including sensitive health information, in line with applicable Indian law including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
2. What we collect
- Identity and contact: name, age, gender, phone/WhatsApp number, city, and similar details you share.
- Health information you choose to share: your description of the health concern (text or voice notes), medical reports, prescriptions, scans and related documents, treatment history, and preferences (language, consultation mode).
- Family member information: if you share details or documents of a relative, you confirm you are authorised by them (or are their lawful guardian/caregiver) to do so.
- Payment information: payments are processed by Razorpay. We receive payment status and reference only; we never see or store your card, UPI or bank credentials.
- Technical records: message timestamps, delivery status and service logs needed to run the service.
3. Why we use it
- To assess your case (done only by licensed medical professionals on our team).
- To obtain an independent specialist opinion with your consent.
- To guide you on hospitals, insurance and government schemes suited to your case.
- To coordinate your journey: scheduling, documents, follow-ups, and support till case closure.
- To process your consultation fee through our secure payment partner.
- To keep records required by law and to improve the service.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your health information for advertising.
4. Consent
Before your records are shared with a specialist, we take your explicit consent on WhatsApp:
Your agreement (button tap or message) is recorded with a timestamp. You may withdraw consent at any time by messaging us on WhatsApp or writing to the contact below; we will stop further sharing from that point.
5. Who can see your information
- Our assessing team: licensed doctors and coordinators bound by confidentiality.
- The specialist you consent to: for the purpose of the opinion only.
- Service providers acting on our instructions, each limited to their function: WhatsApp Business Platform (Meta) for messaging; our messaging platform host; Google (Gemini) for internal transcription and document organisation; Vercel and Neon for secure hosting and database; Razorpay for payments.
- Authorities where disclosure is required by law.
6. Storage and security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored in access-controlled systems. Internal access is limited to team members who need it for your case, through a password-protected portal with an activity trail.
7. Retention
We keep case records for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal and professional record-keeping requirements. You may request deletion; we will honour it except where retention is legally required, and we will tell you if that is the case.
8. Your rights
You may request: access to your data, correction, deletion, a copy of your consent record, or withdrawal of consent. Simply message us on WhatsApp or email [contact email to be added]. Grievance Officer: [name and contact to be appointed]. We aim to respond within 7 working days.
9. Children
Information about minors is processed only with the consent of a parent or lawful guardian.
10. Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page with an updated date. Material changes will be communicated on WhatsApp where feasible.
